Sources & Methodology
SmartMoney uses an accuracy-first hierarchy. Primary official or issuer sources are preferred for Nigerian market facts. Market cards show a source, observation/effective date and status wherever available. A value that cannot be freshly verified may remain visible as a clearly dated cached reference; it is not silently relabelled as live.
Primary-auction rates, secondary-market yields, coupons, fund yields, NAV/unit prices and provider offers are different measurements and are not merged as if interchangeable. SmartCompare similarly separates first-party SmartMoney listings, Nigerian merchant/web results and known import results. “Cheapest found” means cheapest among credible priced results actually retrieved for that search and market group; it is not a claim to know every price in Nigeria.
Calculators use simplified educational assumptions unless stated otherwise. Worked examples are illustrative and do not freeze time-sensitive market rates into evergreen articles. Market-sensitive decisions should be rechecked against the linked source and the authorised institution executing the transaction.
Corrections are logged when a substantive editorial or data issue is confirmed. Source imports are designed to fall back to clearly dated review/cached status rather than substitute an unrelated figure.
